Background
I am an interdisciplinary scholar with degrees in science, law, education, and religion. My professional experience includes serving as Assistant Regional Counsel for Environmental Protection Agency (Region IV), as well as the City of Atlanta’s environmental attorney. I have taught in the area of higher education for 16 years, and am currently Assistant Professor at Florida A&M University. My dissertation research, The Environmental Literacy of Urban Middle School Teachers, was accepted for presentation at the 1999 NAAEE Annual Conference.
Candidate’s Goals For NAAEE
My research focus is environmental literacy, with a particular focus on people of color. My personal motto is “environmental justice through education.” My goal for NAAEE Board participation is to contribute toward the organization’s overall growth, with a specific focus on underrepresented areas.
