Special Conference Tracks
Look for workshops, field trips, and sessions in the conference program identified with special icons to identify presentations on these special topics.
NAAEE's Quality Assurance Initiative
Through the Environmental Education and Training Partnership (EETAP), NAAEE has developed projects that will strengthen and expand the profession. Learn more about how these activities help enhance the role that EE plays in society:
- Guidelines for Excellence
- Resource Reviews
- EE Certification
- Pre-service education and the partnership with the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)
- Building capacity for Affiliates to implement EE programs at the state level
Special Audiences
NAAEE has made it a goal to offer a significant number of sessions that are relevant and inclusive of three specific groups in every strand: Business, Researchers, and Spanish/French Speakers.
Business
Many NAAEE members are interested in learning more
about how the environmental education community can help the business community
reach universal sustainability goals, in support of our partnership with the
U.N. Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
EE Research
In
addition to the separate Research Symposium, the general conference will
include sessions on how research provides the basis for progress in the EE
field. We particularly encourage researchers from countries and cultures other
than the U.S.
to share their experience and findings.
NAAEE intends to offer one or more presentations in each concurrent session in Spanish and French for our international audience. Icons in the conference program will indicate a session in Spanish and French. Due to budgetary restrictions, formal translation will not be available, but informal translation will be provided to the extent that we have volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to serve as an informal translator, please contact José Marcos-Iga (Pepé) at jmarcos-iga@eeexchange.org (Spanish) or Diane Pruneau at prunead@umoncton.ca (French).
