Diversity Committee Gathering

Winter 2006 Communicator "Extra"

Chair of NAAEE’s Diversity Committee and this year’s recipient of NAAEE’s annual President’s Award Isabel Castillo hosted this informal gathering on Friday afternoon. She opened the gathering by inviting us into a circle and sharing a Mayan poem, then explained that the Diversity Committee “doesn’t just talk about diversity, but lives diversity.”  Next, Tom Goldtooth of the Indigenous Environmental Network spoke about his work. Castillo concluded by introducing the subcommittee chairs and encouraging us to mingle and share with each other[sb1] .
