1. QuantumShift.tv "Be the Change, Share the Story" Contest

Contest runs from September 4, 2007 to April 30, 2008
The NAAEE has teamed up with QuantumShift.tv to launch the 'Be the Change, Share the Story! School Video Contest. The contest is challenging 5,000 teams of students at schools across the US and Canada to make a difference and tell the world.

Teams pick a social or environmental project and create two short videos about their project. The first video tells how the team plans to make a difference, and the follow up video shows the team in action, making a difference!

Students, viewers, and celebrity judges can log on and vote for their favorite videos. The top teams in each age group will win $50,000 in cash and prizes for their schools. Quantum Shift.tv wants to empower kids to Be the Change, and Share the Story."

2. EE Adventures ~ Belize, Alaska, Hawaii, Italy

Deadline: December 15, 2007
Summer 2008 Environmental Education Adventures are still available for a limited time through the Earth Explore Foundation. Middle School educators can travel expense free to Belize, Alaska, Hawaii, and Italy with their own students, and explore issues of the environment and Planet Earth with experts in each location. 3. Environmental Communication for Behavior Change ~ Online

4. Visitor Studies Association ~ CFP

The Visitor Studies Association is seeking proposals for conference presentations and pre-conference workshops for Theory, Practice, & Conversations, the 21st Annual Visitor Studies Association Conference. The 2008 conference, which will be held in Houston, Texas, July 15–19, 2008, will focus on creating bridges to understanding among researchers, evaluators, and those who apply research and evaluation within organizations.

5. A Call for Responsible Paper In Textbooks

The Green Textbook Initiative is coordinated by the National Wildlife Federation and the Green Press Initiative and aims to reduce the environmental impacts of textbooks. By going to the link below, teachers and other educational stakeholders can sign a statement calling on publishers of educational materials to minimize their environmental impacts by using environmentally responsible paper.

6. Air & Waste Management Association Education Programs

The Air & Waste Management Association, an international association of environmental professionals, has published EE Resource Guides for air quality and non-point source pollution prevention for grades K-12, as well as the grade 6-8 Air Quality guide in Spanish and French. Fact sheets can be downloaded from the Web site.

7. EcoGarbage Board Game

ECOBASURA is a board game to help teach recycling, raw material recovery, profitable reduction of wastes, and the environmental renovation. Created in Colombia and endorsed by its Educational Ministry, it is adaptable game to all languages and cultures. The Web site is available in English or Spanish.

8. Edutopia Issue Devoted to EE

The October 10, 2007 issue of Edutopia "Go Green 2007: Education for the Ecosystem" is devoted to environmental education. Search the "Go Green" resource database by topic for activities such as field trips or lesson plans by grade-level. Learn about schools involved in innovative learning projects on cool schools and sustainable schoolyard design. Read the articles on EE activities happening in and out of the classroom.

10. Yale Online Environmental Magazine - Spring 2008

The Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies is launching YaleEnvironment Online in Spring 2008, with award-winning former editor of Mother Jones and Audubon magazines, Roger Cohn, as editor. The publication will include op-ed articles, reports, multi-media content, panel discussions, blogs, and more.
