Sustainability Education: Connecting Natural and Human Systems through Food Literacy
Winter 2006 Communicator "Extras"
This Thursday hands-on session demonstrated the purposes and methods of the Center for Ecoliteracy’s Rethinking School Lunch program, which uses school lunch as a vehicle for teaching about food systems sustainability. The presenters encouraged environmental educators to use food systems approaches in their work. About 30 attendees learned how to use several food system activities for 6-8 grade levels and shared their experiences in food education. Resources can be found at www.ecoliteracy.org.
