Facing the Future: People and the Planet (FTF) is an 11-yr-old nonprofit organization that develops global sustainability curriculum for grades 512 (soon to include K-5). They also deliver professional development inservice workshops for teachers, and consulting for schools, states and districts who want to make global sustainability the thematic context for their schools. Educators in 49 U.S. states and 41 countries are currently using FTF curriculum in science, social studies, English as a Second Language, history, math, language arts, economics, environmental science and other subjects. FTF’s texts meet state and national education standards, including alignment with the North American Association for Environmental Education’s Guidelines for Excellence.
