2007 Outstanding Contribution to Research in EE
Dr. Regula Kyburz-Graber
Dr. Regula Kyburz-Graber is Associated Dean for Resources at the Faculty or Art at the University of Zurich in Switzerland.
Dr. Kyburz-Graber has made outstanding contributions to research in environmental education for at least the past 10 years. During that time she has served on the editorial board of the Canadian Journal of Environmental Education as well as Environmental Education Research. She has also published extensively in peer-reviewed journals dedicated to environmental education, particularly regarding her research about teacher training and professional development.
She has supervised
nearly 250 graduate students who were pursuing their graduate degree in
environmental education. Dr. Kyburz-Graber is a much sought-after presenter
being invited to present at numerous academic conferences around the world,
including at the annual NAAEE conference.
Most recently, Dr. Kyburz-Graber served as the organizer and hostess of the 9th Invitational Seminar on Research in Environmental and Health Education, which was held on March 25-30, 2007, in Monte Verita, Switzerland.
Considered collectively, Dr. Kyburz-Graber's contributions to the theory and practice of environmental education as a result of her research findings and results distinguish her in a manner which makes bestowing this award to her extraordinarily appropriate. A review of citation abstracts, including Google Scholar, for example reveal that Dr. Kyburz-Graber's publications have been cited extensively.
