Finding Real Overlaps

Create a Venn diagram, (two overlapping circles). Write your mission and programs in one of those circles in the non overlapping area. Write the mission and programs of a group with who you want tp work in the non-overlapping area of the other circle. Looking at the contents of each circle, determine what you could move into the overlapping area.

Questions to consider:

·      What do you both have in common?

·      Would the other organization agree with what you feel goes in the overlap?

·      Within the overlap, what are the elements that are different? For instance you both work with youth, but the demographics may be different?

·      How can you find out more about how those differences within the overlap area might affect your ability to work together?
