After You Submit Your Resource

Confirmation of your submission; assignment of reviewers; reporting results; adding your review to the National EE Directory; updating reviews; resubmissions and appeals

The whole process is expected to take about three months, from submitting your resource until your review is added to the National EE Directory.

Confirmation of Your Submission

After receiving your submission, we will send an email confirming that all of the pieces of the submission have arrived safely. If you sent your package to a state resource review program, the confirmation will come from the state coordinator.

Assignment of reviewers

Our Resource Reviews coordinator (or the state coordinator) will assign a team of reviewers to look at your submission. The review team consists of three people who have been trained specifically in how to apply the Environmental Education Materials: Guidelines for Excellence to this process.

Reporting results

When all reviews are complete, the review coordinator will consolidate the results of all three of the reviewers. If the three don't agree, the review coordinator will contact reviewers to facilitate a consensus agreement. The review coordinator will notify you of the final results and provide feedback.

Adding your review to the National EE Directory

When the results are in, you decide whether those results are published in the National EE Directory. If you choose to have the results made public, a symbol indicating "Review Available" will appear next to the resource name in the Directory. If you choose not to have results made public, a flag will not appear.

Updating reviews

Reviews are valid indefinitely. Each review will be dated, and consumers will be able to use the date as one mechanism to judge for themselves whether they want to use the resource.

Resubmissions

If significant changes are made to the resource, it is your responsibility as the creator to submit the resource for a new review. If you significantly improve the original resource and would like the resource to be reviewed again, there is no additional fee. The original fees cover the cost of one re-submission. For additional re-submissions beyond that, costs will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Appeals

Submitters who significantly disagree with the review results may appeal. Please send a request in writing to the review coordinator to explain why you disagree. The review coordinator will re-examine the review results. Depending on the results of the new review, the coordinator may meet with the submitter and/or reviewers.
