Operational Efficiency
Using technology to help cash-strapped environmental education orgs save money.
In the past year, we have begun focussing on core organizational fuctions such as how the oprganization operates it's daily business and how the organization provides member benefits. In this section, we cover the operational side. In the next section, we cover member benefits.
Saving Money Through Better Systems
To improve the ability of an organization to operate, you have to improve the systems that the organization has in place to do it's daily business. That is what we are currently doing at NAAEE and what we hope to do at an increasing number of states in 2006 and 2007.
Focussing on membership, we have built a system and implemented it in March 2006 that allows NAAEE staff to do the following:
Electronic Membership Renewals - NAAEE can now send renewals on a monthly basis to all members that are going to expire in the next 1,2, and 3 months.
Electronic Expiration Notices - Send expiration notices to all members who have expired in the past 15 months.
Committee Communication - Automatically set up listservs from member data and maintain listserv membership from a central location.
For 2006 and 2007 ...
Through the end of 2007, NAAEE is planning to focus development on tools that directly help improve operational efficiency and that build the capability to offer member benefits electronically.
